Leeds Charity Lunch raises over £200,000

On Friday 14th December a Charity lunch was held to raise money for the Leeds Irish Gentleman’s Charity.

The single biggest donation was £10,000 with a total of £200,000 being raised for local charities in the Leeds area.

Guest speaker was Barry McGuigan, an Irish retired professional boxer and current boxing promoter, spoke to over 400 people that described his speech as very entertaining.

The main sponsor of the event was D&J Machinery displaying an eye-catching Takeuchi mini excavator as well as a brand new D’avino D12 Dumper outside the event location.

Buckhurst Plant Hire also attended the event, we spoke to Paul Power, managing director of Buckhurst Plant Hire to gain his opinion of the event.

“We had a wonderful day listening to guest speakers such as Mr McGuigan and supporting local charities within the Leeds area. It was all for a great cause and we were thrilled to be invited to the event”

Items were donated to the charity to be auctioned off after the meal, including the infamous one-gallon bottle of Whisky, thousands of pounds were raised through the auction on top of cash donations on the night.

The coveted drop is auctioned numerous times every year, due to never being opened and given back to the charity to be auctioned off again.
